How To Fix A Treadmill Belt

Jun 13, 2020

Most Treadmill problems occur in the belt area because this is where most of the wear and tear happens.

BELT TOO LOOSE OR TOO TIGHT

The rear roller may need adjustment. Use a large Allen wrench and tighten the rear tension bolts about one-quarter turn. If the belt is too light, loosen about one-quarter turn.

BELT UNCENTERS ITSELF

The rear rollers are probably not aligned. To fix, turn on the machine at lowest speed. Use a large Allen wrench to adjust both of the rear tension bolts. Turn either left or right one-quarter turn and observe how the belt tracks, adjusting the bolts accordingly.

BELT DRAGGING OR OTHERWISE NOT LUBRICATED ENOUGH

Grasp one side of the belt and pull it up and slightly away. Spray 100% silicone lubricant towards the center area. Manually move the belt about half a revolution and lubricate in the same manner again.
