Replacing the Incline Motor

May 30, 2020

1. WARNING: Remove the key from the console and unplug the power cord before beginning. Electric shock and injury can occur if the power cord is connected to an electrical outlet. Read these instructions completely before beginning. This procedure requires two persons.

2. Remove the motor hood as described in the troubleshooting section of your user's manual.

3. Lift the treadmill frame to the storage position. (Note: If you cannot lift the frame far enough to latch it, simply hold it in a raised position.) Next, with the help of a second person, carefully lay the treadmill on its left side.

4. Locate the old inclide motor. Hold the new inclide motor near the old incline motor. Follow a wire from the old incline motor to its connecting point on the treadmill, and disconnect the wire. Connect the same wire from the new incline motor in the same location on the treadmill. Repeat for all the wires on the old and new incline motors.

Note: It may be necessary to cut one or more plastic ties off the old wires as you disconnect them.

5. Remove the nut and the bolt attaching one end of the old incline motor. Next, remove the nut and the bolt attaching the other end of the old incline motor. Then, remove the old incline motor.
Note: On your treadmill, there may be a stop bracket inside the incline motor, and there may be a spacer on one of the bolts. The incline motor on your treadmill may be attached with pins and hairpin cotters instead of nuts and bolts.

6. Reverse step 5 and install the new incline motor.

7. With the help of a second person, carefully lift the console and the uprights to the vertical position and then lower the treadmill frame to the floor. Then, reattched the motor hood.
